Can I buy bulk mulch, compost, and soil at Silver Creek Materials?
Yes. Silver Creek Materials is Fort Worth's local source for bulk landscape materials, located at 2251 Silver Creek Road on the city's west side. We produce our own organic compost, mulches, and custom soil mixes on-site at our 600-acre facility, and we've been serving homeowners, landscapers, and contractors across Dallas-Fort Worth since 1983.
What landscape materials does Silver Creek Materials carry?
We carry organic compost (including our signature Zoo Poo® compost), hardwood and specialty
mulches, custom soil blends, topsoil, fill dirt, sand, gravel, and construction-grade aggregates.
Because we mine, screen, and compost everything locally, our materials are fresh, consistent, and suited to North Texas soil conditions.
Do you deliver landscape materials, or can I pick them up?
Both. You can pick up materials at our Fort Worth yard, where we'll load your truck or trailer, or we can deliver bulk quantities anywhere in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. Delivery is priced by distance and volume, so call us at 817-246-2426 for a quick quote.
How much mulch or compost do I need for my project?
A good rule of thumb: one cubic yard covers about 100 square feet at 3 inches deep. Measure your beds (length × width), decide on depth, and our team will help you convert that to yards. Ordering in bulk from Silver Creek is almost always cheaper than buying bagged product for anything larger than a small flower bed. What makes compost from Silver Creek different from bagged store compost?
Our compost is made on-site in Fort Worth from recycled organic material (brush, yard trimmings, and food waste diverted from local landfills) and cured in large-scale windrows. That means a living, nutrient-rich compost tailored to North Texas clay soils, not a bagged product that's been sitting on a shelf. We were one of the pioneers of large-scale composting in Texas.
Do you sell to homeowners or only contractors?
Everyone. We supply major construction and landscaping firms, but weekend gardeners are just as welcome. There's no minimum order for pickup. Bring a pickup truck or trailer and we'll load you up.
